As an astrologer, I have learned one very important thing over many charts and throughout the years that has shaped not only the way I read a person’s stars, but in how I live my everyday life. Polarity, duality and finding the balance in between.  My good friend recently pointed out to me that this 13^th sign, Ophiuchus is actually split into two signs… which got me thinking about what that means in this context. Is Ophiuchus its own polarity? Its own shadow? First some background info…

When looking at polarities in astrology, one must consider that the birth chart is a circular wheel divided into 12 slices, and that each slice represents a 30* piece of the puzzle giving us a 360* view of the sky. While we tend to identify ourselves here in the west by our sun sign, this is only 1/12^th of our astrological composition. We all have these 12 signs within our psyche, and depending on where they fall, who they are next to and what planets are where one can determine what emotional, psychological, spiritual and mental energies will show up for an individual and how they might react/respond to the natural changes in life.  Every sign represents a different archetypal energy, and the sign directly opposing it shows up as the shadow, the polarity, the balancer.

If the zodiac signs are archetypes, you can think of the planets as the chakras, or energy centers of the universe. What this means, is that where a planet falls in your chart (which sign it was residing in when you were born) shows how you will execute that type of energy. For example… the moon represents the subconscious self or emotional self. If your moon is in Virgo, your emotional self may be more nurturing of others while being extremely self-critical and worrisome. You may be a little over attached to the way other people feel, and have a strong desire to help them through emotional times even though you think your own feelings are not worth troubling anyone over. This is because the archetype of Virgo is the Search for Service, and carries with it a strong desire to take care of people. So emotionally, or perhaps subconsciously you draw people to you who need that kind of support.

We are alive during a fascinating time of transformation. All over the globe we are discovering things about our ancestors that have been hidden away for centuries because ( I believe) they seem to discredit what we have come to know about religion and have opened us up to a desire to seek out the truth. With the discovery of the 13^th sign a few years ago (or at least that’s when it became a mainstream internet phenomena) we started to see that perhaps everything we have always known to be true about astrology is a lie. I felt very skeptical about this 13^th sign and it’s place in the wheel, because it would mean that my own chart would change dramatically, and so I brushed it off as fluff and hype until it resurfaced for me in lunchtime conversation and link swapping over Facebook with one of the smartest people I have ever met. I decided to be a little more open minded to the idea of Ophiuchus.

This friend of mine recently told me that in her studies of Ophiuchus she discovered that the sign is actually split into two constellations, and that his time in the sun came not only between Scorpio and Sagittarius, but also somewhere around now, the end of May and mid June.

MIND BLOWN.

When she asked me what the dates were 180* away from the point in the fall that Ophiuchus supposedly resides… I had a thought. How did I not think of this before? If there are 13 signs… That means that one sign stands alone with no polarity. As an energy worker I know this to be impossible. Everything has a positive and negative charge, a light and a dark, a shine and a shadow. The information that she has gathered has led us to believe that Ophiuchus is in fact its own polarity… a concept I have not completely grasped in this moment… but a concept that led me into thinking about the four signs that surround each side to this coin.

Ophiuchus between Scorpio and Sagittarius, as mentioned earlier. The polarities of these signs are Taurus and Gemini, which is the transition we are experiencing right now as we prepare for the sun to move into Gemini tomorrow morning (5.20.12). Tomorrow we also have a new moon in Gemini and a solar eclipse, right around 5pm. interesting timing…

Taurus and Scorpio represent the cycle of life both physical and spiritual, respectively. Taurus is the builder, the grounded, the physical. Taurus tends to struggle with attachment to things in the physical world, be it a nice home, money, physical relationships or just the comfort of having a steady rewarding career. They work hard, think logically and sometimes have a hard time connecting with emotions. Now, these are generalities not to be pinned on someone with a Taurus sun. As I said before, your sun sign is only a piece of the puzzle. More so this description is the archetypal energy of Taurus. The polarity is Scorpio… and Scorpio destroys what has been built before and transforms… transcending the physical into a world of deep watery emotions. While Taurus is more comfortable in the straightforward blunt expression of physicality, Scorpio revels in the mystery and constant change of the etheric psyche. You simply cannot have one without the other. To keep building earth upon earth would result in avalanche, and to continue destroying and transforming with no foundation leaves one stranded and disconnected. They balance each other out beautifully.

The other polarity that sandwiches Ophiuchus is Gemini and Sagittarius. The search for scattered information and the search for wisdom. Gemini is space and air… thoughts that never cease and endless ideas and possibilities. Gemini is the search for information and knowledge, moving quickly from one idea to the next without skipping a beat. In Sagittarius we learn that we can master knowledge and transform those ideas into pure wisdom. And we learn that to do so we must remain humble and teach. Both signs are seeking… Gemini for answers and Sagittarius for someone to teach what they have learned. To “master” these signs and their archetypes is to live in the yin and yang of the teacher – always the student, always the master. We must be one in order to be the other. A teacher who forgets that he learns more form his students then he could ever teach them finds himself without anyone to share his wisdom with. And until the Gemini commits to mastering an idea he will never be satisfied with the masters he encounters. We can all find truth in this wisdom by deciding to look at every person we meet in life as both our teacher and our student, and chose to share love, knowingness and bliss with each other.

So really… I’m not sure what this all means, and what can be gained from my ranting… but I feel like there is something here. While all 12 traditional signs are important and equally powerful… it seems very ironic that this new sign would show up in this time of spiritual evolution, connected to the four signs that seem to reflect Ophiuchian energy the most. Death and rebirth, foundation and transformation, seeker  of knowledge vs. wisdom; teacher/student. These energies are interchangeable, and maybe we are supposed to connect to that now as we share wisdom and move into the next stage of our development as human beings.  A Transformation.

Interestingly, as we discussed these radical ideas and got excited over the possibilities of more connection, my friend and I discovered even more going on cosmically that just can’t be written off as coincidence. The planets are very predictable, and they move in sacred patterns year after year by no accident. In reading tomorrows chart, we saw that 5 out of 6 of the personal planets (celestial bodies that reside closest to earth) are hanging out with that other half of Ophiuchus right now in Taurus and Gemini. Along with the sun and the moon, Venus and Jupiter are within the same 10* portion between the two signs, representing emotion (Venus) and expansion (Jupiter).  With Venus in retrograde ( a planet goes retrograde when it’s rotation slows down to the point that it appears to be moving backwards in the sky), this leads me to believe that this is a time, if nothing else, to go inward and remember that all the love you could ever want or need is within. And that mastering this love will allow us to then expand that energy outward and forward, connecting deeply with those around us in a unified bond as we head out into the unknown.

Neptune, which rules Pisces and represents universal brotherhood and unity, is squared off to the planets that are grouped together, and opposing mars in Virgo - the hermit. I definitely see this as supporting the inward search for love and the importance of us going within right now before trying to express it all outwardly. 5-20-12 is a great day to meditate….

The square aspect in astrology  represents difficulty so it’s almost like the world isn’t ready to shift yet. It is crucial for us to learn to love ourselves first and really feel that divine connection before we can fully understand what it means to be a part of the collective unconscious…

Mars is passion, so with Mars in Virgo the hermit we are urged to again go within. It’s like a broken record! I believe the sky is showing us the same message like 10 different ways.

We must find our true passion for ourselves and understand how we individually can express it fully. Neptune will be in Pisces for a while so there will be plenty of time to connect with community.

Imagine a world where electricity is free.  Seriously.  Free.

It doesn’t cost you anything…  It doesn’t require any resources… 

It is completely free.

That’s possible.  We know how to do that. We’ve had the knowledge to do that for at least 70 YEARS,

But it has been deliberately withheld from us.

And oil, and coal, and various other things.  But, for the sake of this article we will look at only nuclear energy.

We, as world citizens, must seriously look at this issue with critical, top-priority thinking and call to action a resolution.  Immediately.

We have been lied to. Repeatedly.  Despite the government’s denial, the radiation from Japan IS affecting us.  It has essentially contaminated the entire planet.  From mutated plants in Michigan (see video) to radioactive milk in New York (see video).  The highest concentration of radioactive particles is accumulating along the US West Coast due to precipitation from the Pacific Ocean.  It is in the air, the drinking water, rain and soil.  The amount of radiation is uncertain, but there has been a fall out continually since the incident last year.  It has not been contained, nor is there any plan in place to do so.

I am not telling you this to frighten you.  I am telling you to inform you. So you can protect yourself from further radiation, and so you can start the healing process.

In 1986 the world witnessed the Chernobyl nuclear disaster.  The damage was horrific, costing many lives and leaving mutations for generations.  But the risk wasn’t enough to stop us, so we continued building plants, investing in even more atomic energy.  We went along with it, following the leaders as they assured us it was the best way forward.  Nuclear plants have popped up all over the place. The US alone has 65, with more in development. In fact, Japan right now is working to get more plants up and running….ignoring that,

The world witnessed ANOTHER nuclear disaster March 11, 2011.  The Fukushima Dai-ichi power plant, specifically.

We heard it wasn’t good.  But the authorities have told us, “the levels of radiation are too low to harm human health.”

The National Academies of Science do NOT agree.

In 2005 they issued a report that said, repeatedly, and confirming once again, ALL LEVELS of radiation are harmful to human health.

So, here we have a predicament.  Who is telling us the truth? 

On to the next point.

What is being done about this Dai-ichi devastation?

Well, I haven’t heard of anything.  They don’t know how to fix it, they don’t even have the technology to do it.

When Chernobyl occurred, they spent the first 6 months trying to work with robots to resolve things.  With no success, they eventually built a cement sarcophagus to contain it.  That’s worked well enough, despite the need for ongoing maintenance because it isn’t very sturdy.  They had 1 reactor meltdown, and evacuated people within a 50 km radius.


Currently, over one year since the Dai-ichi disaster has passed and they are still working with robots.  Which ISN’T working.  Meanwhile, one of the reactors sits in a pile of rubble and another hinges on steel props to keep it from tumbling over.  3 reactors have been destroyed.  The 4th is hinging on collapse.  Only a 20km radius has been evacuated. 

Do you see the magnitude of this?  Chernobyl had 1 reactor, on land, with 50 km evacuated, and they did contain it eventually. It was top priority. Fukushima has 3 reactors so far, on land and sea, with only 20 km evacuated and it has not been contained.  Yet, the authorities claim it is not serious enough to affect us.  YOU must be your own authority.  They are not taking care of this, they are not taking care of us. Truthfully, they do not CARE at all.  Why? How?  Because they lack empathy and compassion.  They do not FEEL for people. They do not feel a sense of responsibility, or morality.  Which they have proved to us time and time again.

Keep in mind please, they are making a profit off this situation.  From generating the plants, to ‘cleaning up’ the nuclear disasters.

So…. As Fukushima’s damaged plant and its several reactors sit there toxically radiating, we go about our lives as normal.  What else can we do?

I have an answer for that.  Click on this solutions page to see a list of things you can do.

That’s first of all. 

Since we do not know exactly what is happening, do you feel it is wise to pay attention, or look the other way?

Caution: in this case, ignorance is NOT bliss.  It’s negligence.

As I worked on this article I came across several people who wanted me to prove, empirically, exactly what is happening.  I understand, and do appreciate, the need for i’s to dot and t’s to cross. Credibly.    

With such a delicate issue, we can’t have hypochondriacs running around, stirring up hysteria. On the other side - this is your life at stake.  And the lives of those you love.

So, I’ve collected some valuable information which you can find below.  It is worth considering.  If, for any reason, you feel it does not meet your standards for credibility - I encourage you to research further. 

Actually, I encourage you to research further anyway. You learn best by your own experience.  Remember to question, always, the source of information and intention.

I have given you a foundation to work from.  Consider this your map. Now you must navigate the rest of your way,  wherever you want to go.

But first, I beg the question:

With such high stakes involved,

Do you want to throw caution to the wind and say,

     “I wont believe it until it’s proven true.” (<—By who?) 

Or,

Do you want to consider the POSSIBILITY that at the very least, small amounts of nuclear waste has leached out to you, and may be harming you?  If that’s possible, do you feel it might be important to heal and protect yourself?  See the list again.

Pretending like it’s not happening, or out of your control, is exactly the same type of thinking that led to this situation in the first place.  After Chernobyl, it should have never happened again.

We (mistakenly) think we are helpless. 

We (falsely) believe there’s nothing we can do. 

…We are one, amidst a SEA of people.  That is a sea of people!  How powerful is the sea?  If we stop looking at ourselves as just a single human, and understand that we are a HUMAN NATION, we will take back our authority.  And, humanity.

The greatest thing you can do, the most effective way to make impactful change,

.…Is to IMAGINE it….

And as Einstein himself did say,

Stop for 30 seconds, 1 minute if you’re really ambitious, and imagine your life with unlimited energy, completely free. 

That means no more need for nuclear.  (No more need for war…)
Your lights still work, your appliances can work, everything the same as it is now…. Except, your electric bill will disappear.    No more power plants, coal, oil, or even the need to harness wind and water. We can get all the energy we need out of thin air.  It can, and has been done. 

Two words for you: Nikola Tesla.

One more word: Torus.

Now every time you imagine this freedom, you’re actually taking your power back (which was stolen to begin with.)

Truthfully, we pay for our own destruction everyday. Literally.  We pay companies to destroy our people and our planet, for energy.  And it isn’t necessary.  We have everything we need.  This whole scheme is all about money.  We know that by now.  Just recently, between Fukushima, Chernobyl, and the Gulf Oil Spill, we have been proven to, repeatedly, that those who lead us are not capable of doing so competently, or, respectfully.

It does NOT mean that we revolt.  It doesn’t mean we seek revenge. We’ve done that before, many times…. and end up right where we are now. To make things different, you must do things different.  This time around, true, everlasting freedom and success comes through evolution.

Yes, Evolution.

In addition to the list of Radiation Solutions, the greatest way to heal yourself is to transform yourself. 

How?

Nourish your body physically, open up your heart, and elevate your mind.

Do you know how powerful your mind is?  How about your heart?

Together, they are powerful beyond all measure.

So, the very next day after i said how thankful i am for my car (even though i don’t like having to have a car) — the driver window wouldn’t roll up all the way. Motor went out, along with some crunching (frayed wires?), and it’s been stuck down ever since. *note to everyone —- partial thank you’s don’t get you very far.

LUCKILY, i do live in arizona (rather than rainier places like home), but this happened to happen just in time for the week-long winter rain storm.  Now my driver’s-side automatic lock makes an uncomfortable screeching sound, probably from rusting out.

“i’ll get to it…..i’ll get to it…..” as soon as i have the surplus $ to do it.

well, now my check engine light is on. So since i’m only 1 1/2 paychecks away from having enough $$ to do something about it, i figured i’d take it in for an estimate.

On the way i was feeling pretty good about things.  No complaints.  I have enough $$ to eat now, and in 3 weeks i’ll have enough $$ to start fixing my car.

I could feel the fire inside me starting to dwindle down, maybe out, now that things were moving in my favor.  Revolution?  Money reform?  That would be nice, but is it as necessary as i insist it is? Isn’t society kind of working, at least now that i can keep up with it a little bit? (funny how perspective can change so fast given different circumstances)

I get to my favorite, reliable, family-owned auto shop across town (since recently moving to more affordable housing on the other side of the city) and the familiar faces i expected to see were new and not as friendly, or honest…..i felt.  $170 JUST TO CHECK what’s wrong and Mr. New Face was “certain” the check engine light had nothing to do with the driver door malfunction or something simple like an oil change.  ”you can count on it being something totally separate.” <——before he even looked at it!

So i took my dashed hopes, recent optimism, and penniless pockets with me on the road.  ”No complaints? I have enough $$ so there’s nothing to worry about?”  How am i going to fix my car? I need it to get to work which means, i need it to survive.  

What’s wrong with the engine?  Will it last long enough until i can pay to have it checked? (rumor has it some places check for free, so i’m on the hunt for one of those…)

Silly, silly Jen.  Caterpillar crawling along isn’t soaring on piles of money! 

I should certainly know better than to assume i’m even steven in the money game.  

I AM STILL A SERF IN THIS SOCIETY.

But that’s okay…. because we’re revolutionizing the system. :)

Why? Because we don’t even need expensive machines that guzzle gas, risking our lives + those around us, wasting time getting from point A to B.  
We can be teleporting or making our own energy - as soon as we stop relying on a money monger society.  

The science is there. It just needs us to catch up.
